The new Therme in Laško / Slovenia is covered with a two-piece cupola designed, manufactured and installed by MERO-TSK. The fixed part of the cupola is dowelled onto the concrete substructure. The movable part of the cupola is electrically driven on rails with 17 special undercarriages.
The diameter of the movable part including the rails is larger than the diameter of the fixed cupola part. Hence, on opening, the movable part runs over the fixed part of the cupola. Both cupola halves are covered by insulating safety glass panels. In a closed position the joints between the fixed cupola and the building are sealed by means of blow-up sealing elements.
