In South Korea's capital city of Seoul, a new world-class research and development center and headquarters for CJ Corporation is created. An outstanding feature is the increase of interdisciplinary efficiency. Under one roof, "The Only One" unites pharmaceutical, biotechnological and food product businesses.
On all levels, offices, labs and amenity spaces are linked. The staff benefit not only from short ways in the building, but also from a pleasant atmosphere.
The light-flooded atrium in the central part of the construction was planned and executed by MERO. The single-layer bolted, approx. 500 sqm roof structure is designed without visible welding seams.
The safety glass panels are positioned on a drainage system of EPDM, which was installed directly onto the steel construction. Furthermore, the glazing panels have a special edge compound, which complies with the special building physics requirements (amongst others avoidance of condensation).
